about Stoneleigh

Biodiversity and the complex interplay of living things are essential to human life, directly impacting our well-being, food supply, and air and water. We all have a vital role to play in the health of our planet, starting with how we manage our own gardens and community spaces.

Stoneleigh, the public garden of Natural Lands, is one of the non-profit conservation organization’s most accessible and popular properties. The garden provides joy and well-being for tens-of-thousands of guests every year through inspiring displays of native plants and regional ecology in a magnificent former Main Line estate.

Stoneleigh was generously donated by the Haas family to Natural Lands in 2016 for public enjoyment and to magnify the reach of Natural Lands in its mission to save open space, care for nature, and connect people to the outdoors and each other. In addition to Stoneleigh, Natural Lands cares for a network of 40+ nature preserves across eastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey. These properties total more than 23,000 acres and include many of the most spectacular and ecologically diverse properties in the region, which are enjoyed by more than 250,000 visitors annually.

Stoneleigh opened its garden gates to the public in May 2018. Located in Villanova, PA, the garden welcomes 45,000 guests annually. With its easy access and captivating gardens, Stoneleigh has an opportunity to excite and inform the public about nature and introduce thousands to Natural Lands.
