Stoneleigh Ambassadors participate in five, half-day training sessions during which they learn about the rich history of the garden, Stoneleigh’s approach to ecological horticulture, guest relations best practices, and much more.
Upon graduation from the program, Ambassadors volunteer their time welcoming guests to the garden and supporting special events. They commit to serving at least two, four-hour shifts each month at Stoneleigh. Shifts are available April through November, Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30am – 5:30pm.
Training dates:
- Wednesday, February 15, 9:00am – 12:00pm
- Wednesday, February 22, 9:00am – 12:00pm
- Wednesday, March 1, 9:00am – 12:00pm
- Wednesday, March 8, 9:00am – 12:00pm
- Wednesday, March 15, 9:00am – 1:00pm, including graduation
Participants must attend at least four of the five sessions—including the first one—to graduate from the program.
The safety of our volunteers, staff, and guests are of paramount importance. We are planning to hold training sessions in person, on-site at Stoneleigh. However, we continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and may change some trainings to virtual. Save the dates and look for updates accordingly.
The Stoneleigh Ambassador program is part of Natural Lands’ Force of Nature® volunteer program, which connects people to the outdoors through dedicated service to Natural Lands.
